Dario Chiodo

Safety & Site Manager

“Coming together is the beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success”

What was meant to be a short-term collaboration turned into something much more—those 15 days never really ended!

Since 1996, Dario, with his tenacity, precision, and strong drive, joined D&D Engineering and has never left since.

Always drawn to the tangible nature of construction, he easily pursued and completed his studies as a surveyor, then dove headfirst into small work collaborations across the Lombardy region. But for him, this wasn’t enough—fascinated by the worlds of art and architecture, he wanted more. In 1985, he decided to enroll in Architecture at the Politecnico di Milano.

Not satisfied with just one pursuit, he tenaciously balanced both study and work, eventually graduating with honors in 1992.

After obtaining his professional license, he continued his journey by first collaborating with an innovative company entering an emerging market as a general contractor. Later, he worked steadily with the Politecnico di Milano on the renovation and expansion of various university-owned spaces. Here, he had the opportunity to delve deeply into the entire design process, from regulatory aspects and liaising with authorities to construction, taking charge of planning, conceptualizing, and directly tendering all the various initiatives.

In the meantime, driven by an ever-growing thirst for knowledge, he pursued an intense training regimen, focusing on acoustics, wooden structures, and photography. The icing on the cake came with his certification in Safety, a field that would later engage him in numerous assignments.

Hired by a group of investors as a designer for several new healthcare facilities in Lombardy, he found himself traveling from one construction site to another. Eventually, he crossed paths with Romagnoli, a construction company. It was there, sitting at one of many technical meetings, that he met and began collaborating for the first time with those who would later become his colleagues in the D&D Engineering adventure.

In 1997, D&D Engineering directly hired him to take charge of designing the Cervesina Hospital. However, that project soon became the first of many.

Today, Dario is a designer, Project Manager, and Safety Coordinator (CSE): a key reference for the entire team on regulations, bureaucracy, and operational practices, yet with the creativity and aesthetic sense of someone who envisions new lines and horizons. He is the element that undoubtedly brings shape, style, and ever-changing perspectives to our work.
